Julie had just gotten home from her job as a preschool teacher at Paddington Preschool. She sat down, and looked at an article from The
Denver Post about small islands off the coast of Nicaragua. Julie, finished reading the article and said “We're going to go to Nicaragua this summer, and have a really nice time, as a family. And there will be no cell service so you'll be forced to spend time with us. I mean you Devon"

“Everybody ready to go?” My dad asked
“Yes, Father,” the
girls answered. We made our way to the airport and boarded the plane to Houston. When we arrived we headed to the airport Marriot. It was not
very nice. When we woke up, we started a new journey to Nicaragua it took
two airplanes and two small boats.
We arrived
at Farm Peace and Love, and we literally had to wade to shore with our
suitcases tossed ashore. We arrived just before it was time to go to bed, there
was no air conditioning. And mosquitos, yes, lots of mosquitos, mainly because
the windows were always open. We woke up and wanted to shower, only to
discover the showers were outdoors, once they showered, we went to the beach
which would be our home for the next 5 days.
On our fifth day of
vacation on the islands, we traveled back to the big island to Casa Canada. It was more of a resort and less roughing it,
like Farm Peace and Love. That was nice; there was a big bed and an air
conditioner, which was a big yay for them! As well as a fantastic pool. This lasted for 4 days; our days were full of
riding golf carts around the island. Then they took the journey back home.
I liked how you described why you went to Nicaragua in the first place. It is a good slice of life!
ReplyDeleteIt must have been a shocking change when you arrived, Quinn! Some other time you'll have to tell us about the food!
