Falling

Have you ever been on one of those little trampolines they have at places like Heritage Square, or in those strip malls, or carnivals even. Not bouncy castles, but the mini bungee jumping stations where you get attached to chords, and jump.
Up and Down.
Well I was about 9 years old.
I got on. I got hooked up. And I was jumping.
Up and Down
Up and Down
Up and Down
I was at the very top then..,
Snap.
Down
Down
Down
I was falling,
I was falling so fast I couldn't even hear my mom screaming.
I didn't know where I was, or what was happening.
It seemed like hours I was falling.
When I finally reached the bottom I landed on my neck,
luckily at just the right angle, not the wrong one.
Not the one where I would've broken my neck, or worse.

Book Blog

This week I read the book Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler. This book follows the story of a girl, and a box she leaves on her Ex-boyfriends doorstep. The box contains many small items, such as a bottle cap, a movie ticket, and many other things, along with a note that explains why they broke up. Now I'm not going to go too much into this because I don't want to give anything away. This book does follow themes of classic romance, and eventual heartbreak.

Although this is a great story, I have to say I am not the biggest fan of the way the chapters are divided. I think that although it was smart to have each chapter represent a different item in the box, and how it helped the story get tied together. I think that at times it got sort of confusing, because it does get more like a rant as it goes on, and less like a story. Despite this I still loved this book and the sort of mystery aspect it had. And I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a book, that'll both amuse them and make them think.

Movies

I've never really liked seeing movies in the theater. Maybe it's just because I hate sitting still for that long, maybe it's just because I simply don't like movies. Or maybe it's because I have a traumatic movie memory. It's not like I was injured or something, no.

The first movie I ever saw wasn't something like Finding Nemo, or any other kids movie. It was a movie at a science museum in San Diego. It was about deer or something like that. I was only a toddler. Anyways, I wasn't scared because the deer were big and I was small. I was scared because of how it started.

It started with a view of mountains, big beautiful mountains, on a sunny day with trees and blue skies. Then it started zooming in. First slowly, then faster, and then when we were almost to the mountain i was scared, so scared, at the time I still thought you moved with the theater, and that everytime you watched a TV show the actors were performing it live. And I was horrified, I thought I was going to die. So I did what most children do I started crying, and soon my mom was out in the hallway with me, and it was all okay.

Book Blog #2

This week my book of the week was called Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler. This story isn't just your average story. This story is about a girl Anna, who goes on a vacation with her best friend Frankie and her family to California for twenty days. Anna is looking for a fun trip across the country with her fun-loving best friend, Frankie on the other hand plans to meet a different boy every day. Hoping to find the summer romance, every stereotypical teenage girl dreams of. Unfortunately there's something Frankie doesn't know. Anna already had her romance, And not with just anyone, with Frankie's older brother Matt who died in a car crash barely a year ago. This makes it hard for her to meet the twenty guys, or enjoy it.
This story is maybe not the best quality story or what you'd call a classic, and by just looking at the title you might think it's just the kind of book you read when you're looking for an easy book. But instead it is a beautiful love story, that tells about loss, and sadness. As well as adventures and joy. I would recommend this book to anyone who liked The Fault in Our Stars, or any other John Green books.

Camogli

On the plane.
Off the plane.
On the plane again.
A new plane.
This time for 8 hours. When we land in the next airport, in a new country. We are going to drive for 2 more hours. 2 more long, hot hours in a cramped car, in a country I've never been to. Seeing sights I've never seen before, and probably never will again.

Once we reach our final destination. A sense of relief floods me. Until we see the stairs.
We will have to climb over 500 of them in order to get to our apartment. When were there. I collapsed onto the couch.

We've made it.
We've made it to a small town.
We've made it to Camogli, Italy.

Tangled by Carolyn Mackler

This week I read Tangled by Carolyn Mackler, This story is told from the perspectives of four different characters, all whom are very different. And all of whom have very different experiences, yet somehow all of the stories work together to create one complete story. I think the author did an amazing job, making all of the characters lovable as well as being very easy to relate to. The character I think was the most realistic and interesting was Skye, the actress who seems to have it all, but still manages to crack under the pressure. I think the way the author showed how even the strongest, and seemingly best of us can have our issues. And how nobody's perfect. Not even people who seem to be. It is also a fairly quick read. Overall this book was one of the best books I've read this year and I think anyone can relate to it. And I think everyone should read it.

The Rush Down The Trail

They said to meet at the frog pond at 4:30. We were eating cannoli’s at a small bakery on the north side, and we were oblivious to the time. We were oblivious to deadline we had to meet. We asked the time at the front and… it was 4:05. We had 25 minutes to walk… or run at least a mile through a city none of us had ever been to.
We were running and running. Trying to keep track of the red line. The red line that was the only thing keeping us from getting lost in Boston. The line that had twist and turns, that had parts where it crossed streets without us knowing. The line that had dead ends and paths that lead to nowhere.
It was 4:20. And we were at Faneuil hall. Which on our way up took us two hours to get to. Now we were sprinting. We didn’t even know where in the common the frog pond was. We ran and ran 90% sure we would be late.
We finally reached the common. Not wanting to stop, even to check the time. Not even to ask where we were going. We just hunted for where we saw the famous swan boats we had heard so much about. Finally after circling what seemed like the entire common we spotted them. And ran to where we saw the other 40 people waiting. Staring at us while we ran. We finally sat down, noticing we weren't the last
group. Whispering to another group asking what time it was.
