31/31 of March challenge
Done. We are done with this challenge. And done with the month of March. I am done writing about my life everyday always stressing about when I'm going to find the time to sit at a computer, and write about whatever's in my mind at that moment. Whichever memory I think is interesting or important enough to share with the world. I am done rushing to my computer at 7:55, hoping I can write my slice in time. Especially even though I'm sick. And cringing whenever I look at a clock. I am done looking at the clock while I eat my dinner, making sure I have time to write my slice about Starbucks, or snakes, or the colors that are in my room. I am done looking at the slice of life logo, that I have had saved to my desktop for the last month. Done surfing through pictures for some inspiration, or reading old writing to see what I have done in the past. I am so done. This challenge was fun at first. But now I am just done.

Snake

This one time I saw a snake. It was cool. It slithered a lot, and my sister cried.

Bagel Bites
27/31 of March challenge
You bite into the crisp mini bagel.
Feel the hot cheese and sauce fill your mouth
A symphony of tastes.
You feel like you're flying as you chew the bite sized morsels.
Wanting more
and more.
Until they're all gone.

Last week I read Go Ask Alice, by Anonymous. This book is an actual journal from a teenage drug addict, only not including certain names and locations. Throughout the book the girl starts out not having many issues, except possibly an eating disorder, that was unclear to me. But when she travels home for the summer, she becomes friends with a group of kids who are very into drugs, such as speed, LSD, and heroine. This sends the girl on a downward spiral into drug addiction. Leading her to at one point run away to San Francisco with a fellow addict. She ends up running away once more before coming back and getting clean. After which some classmates spike her food with LSD causing her to get put in a mental institution.
I thought this book dealt with some difficult topics, so I would not recommend it to anyone who thinks they can't deal with it. It's hard to rate this book, because the girl whose journal this is based on was clearly not in the best mental state, therefore it wouldn't be respectful to judge her actions, or the writing in the book.

Colors Part 3
23/31 of March challenge
The color of my walls (not for long), my sheets, my
carpet.
The ocean I haven't been to in over a year.
My
winter coat.
My
Cats collar
The
picture frames on my bookshelf.
Jeans,
the jeans I never wear.
Twitter,
Facebook, Tumblr.
The sky.
Sadness.
The color of indescribable sadness. The color you see when you hear something
that you don’t want to hear. The feeling of complete and utter despair. When
you’re feeling down, when you’re feeling Blue. Blue is more important than we think.

Colors Part 2
22/31 of March challenge
An urban outfitters bag that I use to carry my stuff
to my friend’s houses.
Candles, Candles on my
bedside table.
The jewelry box on my
desk, perfume bottles on my dresser.
The big ‘B’ on my wall,
the hoodie I wear all the time.
The ring my grandmother
bought for me when I was 7.
Sharpies
on my floor, chipped nail polish. Smudged lipstick.
Pain. The color of
pain. The color of fear, good or bad, fear that somehow warms you or fear that
chills you to the bone. Anger, hot furious anger, that takes over your body and
makes you want to scream. And sometimes it’s all three at once. The pain so
bad, the fear so strong, the anger hot and red.
Red is everywhere and everything.

Colors Part 1
21/31 of March challenge
Colors. Colors are incredibly important to me. And probably to you as well. They can display countless emotions and represent how we're feeling without having to use words. They're in the sunset, in my room. In the classroom and in my clothes. To me they are everywhere and everything. My pillows, my candles, my carpet. Describing them is difficult. But is it impossible?

Recently I read Counting by 7's, by Holly Goldberg Sloan. This book is about a girl, named Willow. And Willow is not your normal student, Willow is exceptionally smart, with an incredible knowledge of plants and pretty much all other things. The book starts with Willow hearing her parents had died in a car accident, then it goes back two months to when Willow is first starting middle school. On one of the days she takes a test, and aces it. This leads the principal to believe that she has cheated, And forces her to meet with one of the school counsellors, Mr. Dull. Immediately he recognizes her intelligence, and starts to form a bond with her. Soon she meets another patient's younger sister Mai, who she soon forms friendship with. Then Willow's parents die. This causes Mai to lie to the cops, and say Willow was a family friend, and could live with them. This leads to many twists and turns throughout the plot.
I loved this book, I thought it was really well written, but also a very fast read. I would recommend this book to almost anyone. Especially people who enjoyed A Mango Shaped Space.
